Air Time

air time - the amount of time spent in the air while jumping. This can be remarkably long; the current record is Jessie Richman's 22 second long jump. Five to ten seconds is not unusual.

@Ina: Thanks Ina. Pretty gutsy, yup. They land in the water (if they're lucky or skillful). On the beach, highway, building or the rocks if they're neither.

These are really cool shots, were you on the beach taking them or on a boat? How far away were they from you?

@DaveB: Thanks Dave, I was on the beach, actually kneeling in the water, with my oldest daughter warning me when a big wave was coming in (which she forgot to do several times).

Another amazing action shot. Can we see the kites themselves, just to get an idea of their size? This really is a great series.

@Jaynee: Thank you. The problem with getting the kite in the picture, lends towards a boring shot, the distance between the surfer and the kite is quite far. So I don't have any decent shots of kites, will try something next time I'm at the beach.

You're certainly maintaining your high standard as you continue on in this series, Graham. Again, the subject perfectly shown off against that pastel shaded background. The light was good, and you knew how to use it to your advantage.
