@Gary: Thanks Gary, I was pretty close to the action - knee deep in the surf. My daughters job was to warn me when a big wave was coming in, which she forgot to do from time to time. The water is pretty cold, so it was a challenging session.

@Melissa: Thanks Melissa. Yes, this is the Altantic Ocean. We do have sharks, but not infested. False bay (which is about 30 minutes drive away from where this was taken) is the breeding ground of the great white, and we have had several shark attacks, there. They actually have shark spotters in the hills and mountains who watch for sharks and then notify the lifeguards.

Where this shot was take, there havn't been any shark sightings or attacks.

@Tracey: Thank you. Yes I was using a 75-300mm Telephoto lens. The Lens has a self stabilizing sports mode, which I was trying out for the first time, and allowed me some fantastic action shots. Can't wait to find my next set of action stuff to shoot, research and update.
