The Company's Garden was laid out by Cape Town's founding father Jan van Riebeeck on order of the Dutch-East India Trading Company to secure the provisioning of the colonists with vegetables

Well, this really is a "bird's eye view"! An amazing shot for the capture of the birds and for the way it draws the viewer into their world. Very good exposure and framing, too. I (as I'm a fanatic with this -- but don't think everyone else has to be, necessarily) would have tried to correct the verticals of the monument, although this would inevitably cut out a little more of the bird at the top, left. Admittedly, the monument is not the true focus of the image, so I guess it doesn't really matter. Just a thought. Marvellous, anyway!
