Sunday Picnic - Road Side

We left the dam, and headed North. Eventually landing up on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere for our picnic. The sun was shining, a herd of cows was watching us, and the kids had a marvelous time. The best impromptu picnic spot ever.

This shot was through the trees at a farmhouse in the distance.

@Laurie: Thanks for all your comments over the past view pics, Laurie. We are currently in winter, which are wet and mild with the coldest temps about 8c (46f).

Hard to believe this is the same day as yesterday's post ... but I realize that in coastal areas the weather can change drastically in a matter of miles. This is really a picturesque scene, Graham, and beautifully framed image!

@Ron: Thanks Ron. In Cape Town, the locals will tell you, that you can experience all 4 seasons in one day, from hot and sunny, to cold and wet.

This a what I would call a rather daring approach to composition, being so unconventional and having so much of the frame taken up with the out of focus foreground. And then there's the sunlight branch, too. Why does it work so well, then? Why worry...it's a great shot!
