Out and About - Jonkershoek Nature Reserve

Went up to the ship wrecks on Sunday, and nothing really interesting to see or shoot. So, this next series is a collection of shots taken recently around and about my part of the world.

This one is from the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, taken 5 weeks ago, when we had had some snow on the mountains. Jonkershoek is just outside Stellebosch, and about 30 minutes drive from home.

just gorgeous -- i have to have my friend come up here -- can someone ride their bike up here? he is a big bicycle rider... (racer actually -- but he likes to go on long rides too). a wonderful shot! just gorgeous!

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks DJ, there is a mountain bike trail at Jonkershoek. Cycling is very big in Cape Town, with the Argus Cycle Tour each year attracting 35,000 riders and is the worlds largest individually timed race.

Beautiful landscape and I would not have thought that it was taken in Africa. You have high mountains covered by snow. Lot's of pine trees too.

A lovely shot, Graham. There's just so much to appreaciate here, from the different layers in the compostion to the beautifully rich colours and the good light. That foreground gives it an almost three dimentional look.
