US Navy - Welcome to Cape Town

Posted by Graham Russon (Cape Town, South Africa) on 6 October 2008 in Transportation.

Two ships from the American Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, stopped over at Cape Town on the weekend.
Beautiful weather on Sunday, had everyone out at the waterfront, mountains and beaches to get a peek at the USS Theodore Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier, which was moored in Table Bay. An incredible vessel and impressive sight to behold.

This is a shot of its escort, the cruiser USS Monterey, which docked in Table Bay Harbor. We have 4,800 sailors visiting our city. From most of us, its a big welcome to Cape Town.

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments on my Jet Ski series, I really appreciated the enthusiasm.

Thank you for visiting my site and for leaving a comment. All and any criticism is most welcome as it helps me grow in a hobby I love. I may not have time to thank you, but I will try and visit your site and leave a comment.
