Portrait - High School Musical

I struggle to shoot people, they always come out too stark and unflattering on the poor subject. So I roped my daughter in as a guinea pig, and took a whole bunch of her in the garden. We both got bored and most of the shots were too contrived or stark to be of any use.

While I was in another part of the garden, shooting bugs and thing, I saw that she was using my tripod as a microphone and was doing a High School Musical song routine, unaware that I was shooting, I took this impromptu portrait, that came out reasonably well.

Very nice portrait! and a very pretty girl !!! I know what you mean about portraits, i think my family want to run away!! when they see me with my camera,!! the only ones that come out reasonable ok! are when they do not know i am snaping!! away at them.

beautiful portrait Graham She is a prety girl. I also find that people are hard to photograph as expressions change in an instant and once they are aware the are being photgraphed their demeanour changes

A very nice portrait Graham, impromptu or candid shots are usually the most natural looking.

she is very beautiful mate, and this is truly lovely! i love the choice of framing, and how close we are to her... excellently done -- she has that magical look of youth on her face -- like simply anything is possible, and that is a delight to see! bravo!!

She is beauuuuuutiful! I never let people pose for me - or I let them and then put my camera on continious shooting, once they hear the shutter, they relax and think it's over - not knowing that I keep on shooting - that way I get my best shots!
