Zoo - Croc or Gator

A closer shot of the Crocagator. I thought it was a crocodile, but Susan thinks a alligator, and a shot of her alligator looks like it. Any other opinions?

Beautiful capture Graham! If I remember correctly, alligators are limited to the Americas and China. Ergo... it must be a crocodile..... Either way, I wouldn't get too close... ;-)

I still think Definitely think a gator.....although this info is about American gators and crocs, I'm thinking it must hold true for the species, especially regarding the teeth.....
"How can you tell an American alligator from an American crocodile? 1) the alligator has a broad snout while the crocodile has a narrow snout; 2) adult alligator generally has blackish coloration, while crocodile has olive brown coloration; 3) only teeth of the upper jaw are visible on alligator when jaws are closed, while teeth of both jaws are visible on the crocodile when jaws are closed. In this composite, the gator's the one on top....."

@Susan: Thanks for some amazing info on this shot, I phoned Tygerberg Zoo this afternoon and they confirmed that there were two crocodiles, native to Africa. I don't know where the other one was, when I was shooting, gulp. Thanks for all your support, enthusiasm and comments.
